I hope all of you had an Eid filled with Barakah and felt spiritually uplifted.
Alhamdulillah, we had our second teaching session the week before Eid. After the first session, where we defined our journey’s final destination, we moved on to the question: “How do we get there?”
Before the session, our beloved members reflected on the best version of themselves—the version they aspire to become. We discussed a powerful equation for life, one that leads to developing a gardener’s mindset.
Allah SWT says in Surah Al-Waqi’ah...
Have you considered what you sow? Is it you who cause it to grow, or is it We Who do so? (Quran 56: 63-64)
If the outcomes are from Allah SWT, then what is our part?
As Shaykh Abdallah ibn Bayyah teaches: have sincere intentions, and work hard.
As gardeners, we must show up daily and do our work for the sake of Allah SWT, regardless of life’s seasons, situations, and outcomes. This is what brings Barakah into your life. Barakah is a gift from Allah SWT for your intentions and efforts. It can enter anything, anyone, and at any time.
Even during tough times, we can feel Barakah. Are we not seeing the heart-breaking images and videos from Gaza? In so many of them, our brothers, sisters—even the children—say with conviction: “Allah is sufficient for us.”
Barakah is not just about the immediate outcome. It’s about lasting impact, sometimes beyond our own lifetimes. There is no doubt that Gaza is turning hearts towards Allah SWT across the world. And the people of Gaza will, InshaAllah, be rewarded in the best of ways for their sacrifice. May Allah accept them and grant them the final victory.
When it comes to our daily lives, we too are in a constant struggle—with worldly distractions trying to sell us an ego-centric version of success and "life balance."
As we discussed in the last session: life feels balanced when our hearts are submitted to Allah SWT, and we do our work with sincere intentions to please Him alone.
Life balance is not about "having more," but rather about attracting Barakah into your life in any situation, with everything Allah has given you at the moment.
So ask yourself:
What is my intention in my daily tasks?
Where do I see Barakah in my life?
What is one thing I will start or continue doing to attract Barakah into my life?
What is one thing I need to stop doing—something that may be blocking Barakah?
Stay tuned for the upcoming session updates, where we’ll dive into practical tools for seeking Barakah in our energy, focus, and time.
If you want to be part of this journey, join here. Bismillah.
May Allah place Barakah in your life—wherever you are, whatever you're going through, and however you feel right now.
Sincere Duaas,
Haneef
