Alhamdulillah. By the grace of Allah, our flagship program — TaQwa Habits: The Key to Life Balance — commenced on the 1st of Dhul Hijjah, 1446 H.
In our very first teaching session of this lifelong journey, we explored an essential question: Where are we heading? What is our destination? What does "life balance" truly mean?
Prior to the session, members engaged in a reflective and personalized exercise. We began by discussing their insights. Together, we came to a meaningful realization: life balance has no fixed definition.
It changes with your life’s seasons and circumstances. Life balance when you're single is not the same as when you're building a family. It shifts again when you're raising children or caring for an elderly parent, or nurturing a child with special needs. If you're in the midst of a life trial, life balance takes on a whole new meaning.
So how does one remain in balance through all of this?
By fully submitting to Allah SWT.
In our session, we introduced a profound Islamic psycho-spiritual model that illustrates how true submission to Allah SWT brings perfect balance — no matter the situation. It dismantles a common misconception: that Islam is strict and limits freedom. In truth, Islam is right, perfect, and grants true freedom in this world.
As Mohammed Faris quotes in The Barakah Effect,
"If you are not an ‘abd (slave) of Allah, you are an ‘abd of someone or something else."
No matter the situation or season you're in, pause and ask yourself:
“How can I please Allah SWT in this moment?”
That is where true freedom and balance begin.
“Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.” — (Qur’an 13:28)
One student shared something that touched me deeply:
“Despite all my efforts, I now realize that the weaker my submission to Allah SWT, the more I feel the absence of Barakah in my roles.”
May Allah SWT keep us steadfast in this short life, and make us among the victorious in the Hereafter, for eternity.
Sincere du’as,
Haneef
