It is a milestone in my life, and I am still on a journey. In sha Allah.
Alhamdulillah! I am grateful to have completed the certification program with The Productive Muslim Company. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and this accomplishment has been a dream since I first read Brother Mohammed A. Faris's book, The Productive Muslim. Subhan Allah, it was during a period of deep burnout while pursuing my PhD in Chemical Engineering. At that time, I felt lost and saw no path forward for my dreams. However, I now realize that this was the beginning of a transformative journey, where Allah SWT was preparing me and answering a dua of mine: “Ya Allah, guide me in using my teaching skills for your sake.” Alhamdulillah for all situations!
The certification program has always been an in-person event, and I had no hope of achieving it anytime soon. Given my current transition and daily responsibilities, traveling to a different part of the world and spending an intensive week there felt overwhelming.
One day, I received an exciting email similar to those sent to other participants in various PM CO programs. It announced the launch of the online certification program for the first time! I attended the information session and completed my intake registration before Mohammed finished.
From that point on, I witnessed a journey of Ihsan (excellence). I made it a priority to remind myself of this line from the Barakah Manifesto (from Mohammed Faris): “Life is not about you; it is about serving your Lord with Excellence.”
From the program's start, I experienced excellence in education and materials. Mohammed excelled in teaching and training us, helping us embrace concepts that hold lifelong value. Mohannad Hakeem, Ph.D. was exceptional in mentoring and guiding us to deliver the content effectively in real time. Above all, my fellow trainees, who joined us from different parts of the world and brought diverse backgrounds, contributed immensely and supported one another. It was indeed a demonstration of excellence. But we’re not done yet!
I am grateful to have taught a group of my students the entire content of the Productive Muslim Program during the year-end holidays. My students included engineers, a quality assurance officer, and a university student. I have completed my exam and submitted all the certification requirements. Now, I am patiently and gracefully awaiting the outcome. May Allah accept the efforts of all of us—fellow trainers, teachers, and the entire team at Productive Muslim Company. It is a lifelong responsibility to bring 'barakah' back into every aspect of our lives.
Where does barakah come from? It originates from ‘TaQwa,’ which involves using our faculties and enhancing our spiritual intelligence to navigate life with strong faith and a connection to the unseen.
