As-salaamu álaikum wa rahmatullahi community.
Alhamdulillah, we are on the first Friday of this beautiful month of Ramadan. Seize every moment of it. I hope you experienced the power of protecting your morning hours, in the last challenge.
Today, let’s start with your official day in Ramadan. Whether you are a working professional, business owner, home maker, social worker… You have responsibilities to fulfill in this blessed month of Ramadan. Normally, we get advice to slow down during Ramadan, and focus more on the spiritual part. But what if we add spirituality into our daily chores? Our work, business, projects, home responsibilities, etc. should be an act of worship, not just 'Dunya’ stuff.
Let’s discuss the three habits (Spiritual/Mental/Social) we can do in Ramadan, and make the most out of the moments when we start our official day, and in seeking the barakah into our life roles.
[Spiritual]: Pray Dhuha.
Start your official day by praying Salat Duha.
It was narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) that he said:
“In the morning a charity is due from every joint of one of you. Every Tasbihah is a charity, every Tahmidah is a charity, every Tahlilah is a charity, every Takbirah is a charity, enjoining what is good is a charity, forbidding what is evil is a charity, and two Rak`ahs offered in the forenoon (Duha) will suffice for that .”
(Narrated by Muslim, 1181)
Subhanallah. Our joints are in action when we fulfill our daily responsibilities. Take a moment to absorb the great virtue of Duha prayer.
Kick off your official day by connecting to Allah SWT, and asking his guidance for the entire day, and into your pursuits in seeking from His Bounty, and fulfilling your responsibilities.
[Physical/Mental]: Plan your Day.
Don’t start your day without a plan for it! As a believer, it is important to plan how we make use of our time instead of just doing whatever comes our way.
Your time should not be without any structure, such that you occupy yourself arbitrarily with whatever comes along.
(Imam Al- Ghazali R.A)
Take 5-15 minutes at the beginning of the day to plan your 3-5 most important tasks for the day. This will change you from 'always busy' to 'On a purpose' mode.

[Social]: Call your parents/make Dua for them.
Start your official day by calling your parents if they are far away. Spent some time with them if they are nearby. Make Dua for them if they have already returned to Allah SWT. This will attract a huge sum of Barakah into your day! Try it.
Allah Says:
“And worship Allah and do not set up any partners with Him. And treat the parents with excellence.”
Surah An-Nisa 4:36
Excellence is the standard set by Allah SWT when it comes to treating our parents. Do your best, treat them with love, have mercy upon them, and be patient with them. Make sure you connect to them daily despite your busy life. If you are in your 30s or 40s, remember your parents are not going to be with you for a long time.
The beauty of our Deen is the clarity. Even when the parents passed away, we have duties upon them, and should make Dua for them. We can still do our part for them, and seek acceptance from Allah SWT.
