Bismillah. Here is our first set of Spiritual, Physical and Social Habits for you. Please try to follow at least one of them for the next three days. In sha Allah. If you want to participate in the Ramadan Challenge, join us by following our LinkedIn page.
[Spiritual] Wake up with gratitude.
First thing in your day, sit on your bed while waking up, and genuinely be grateful to Allah SWT for giving you another day in the month of Ramadan. How many did not make it to Ramadan this year?. Alhamdulillah, if we are.
Recite the dua of waking up.
Say heartfelt ‘Alhamdulillah’ for three blessings.
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Whoever among you wakes up physically healthy, feeling safe and secure within himself, with food for the day, it is as if he acquired the whole world.’”
Sunan Ibn Majah 4141
[Physical] Do miswak
This may be a simple, but profound sunnah of Rasulullah (ﷺ), that we can follow in this Ramadan.
Once you finish with ‘Alhamdulillah’ moment while waking up, grab your siwak (tooth brush). Isn’t that simple? Ask yourself, what do you grab first while waking up? your phone? or your siwak?
Let’s take a conscious moment to follow our beloved leader: Prophet Muhammed (ﷺ)
Think about the profound impact of protecting you from worldly distractions from the moment you wake up, and taking one step closer to worshipping Allah SWT.
Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: We used to prepare for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) Miswak and the water for making Wudu’. Whenever Allah wished to awaken him from sleep at night, he (ﷺ) would brush his teeth with Miswak, make Wudu’, and perform Salat.

[Social] Remind your close ones about the importance of Suhur (pre-dawn meal).
Suhur is like a high-mileage fuel for your fasting day. Don’t miss it. Fasting is more than abstaining from food, and drinks. We need energy to actively get closer to Allah SWT through worship, deeds, seeking knowledge, and fulfilling our life roles…
Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Eat Suhur (predawn meal). Surely, there is a blessing in Suhur."
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
The moments you wake up for suhur is a special moment of your day. This is the last part of the night, where Allah SWT is closest to each one of us. Make use of it. This is the time, when most in your town are asleep, and there are fewer distractions. Spend quality time with your family. Remind them of the importance of suhur. Seek barakah in it, by eating little, eating together, starting with Bismillah, sharing food, and helping one another in preparing the suhur.
Your assignment for the next three days
Take at least one or all of the above habits, and generate the following prompt for you.
After I [TRIGGER], I will [ACTIVITY], then I will [REWARD].
feel free to modify the prompt.
TRIGGER- Something that will remind you of this habit
ACTIVITY- what you do
REWARD - What would you get
E.g. After I wake up, I genuinely thank Allah SWT, so that Allah SWT is pleased with me.
I am curious and excited to read your prompts. If you find this beneficial, please share it with your family and friends. Let's take the time to slow down during this Ramadan and make sure we truly experience it.
